Working with Data for Social Science

These courses are specifically designed and optimized for online instruction and learning, and are on-ramp programming courses for undergraduate and graduate students. No prior experience necessary! 

Data in Society

This suite of Data, Internet and Society courses offers an interdisciplinary dive into how data shapes our world—from social media algorithms to predictive policing and misinformation. Designed for students across all fields, from social sciences to engineering, these courses provide hands-on experience with data analysis, ethical considerations in technology, and critical thinking about the role of data in shaping our world. While they do not currently fulfill major requirements, they will be part of the upcoming Data and Society minor, launching soon. These courses equip students with valuable career and life skills to navigate an increasingly data driven world—whether in research, policymaking, or academia.
