Stacks Xchange: Field Notes is a graduate student-centered series on tools, methods, practices, and creative data collaborations with researchers across all disciplines. Speakers are invited to spotlight a core technical idea, method or framework, from statistical and computational models to industrial or home-brew LLMs and cutting-edge VR technologies, while attendees can expect not only technical curiosity but also practical how-to field notes from peers.
The 2026-2027 series is co-organized by UCLA graduate students:
Sophia Toubian, PhD Candidate in the Department of Information Studies at UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies
Muhammad Rehan, PhD Candidate in the Program in Indo-European Studies, part of Humanities Division within UCLA College
Tom Francis, PhD Candidate in the Department of Classics, part of Humanities Division within UCLA College
Presented by the UCLA DataX, Innovative Applications and Creative Activity pillar.
