Drago Plecko works on developing methods in causal inference, focusing on both statistical and computational aspects. He is also interested in using causal inference for trustworthy data science, including fair machine learning, explainability, and algorithmic recourse. His applied interests are in medical data, in particular epidemiological questions of causation and the use of AI tools in intensive care medicine.
Previously, Drago was a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in the Department of Computer Science at Columbia University, working with Dr. Elias Bareinboim. He received his Ph.D. in Statistics from ETH Zürich, advised by Dr. Nicolai Meinshausen.
