Film Screening: Humans in the Loop

Please join Assistant Professor Noopur Raval, Department of Information Studies, for the screening of 'Humans in the Loop', a film about an indigenous woman from India who works in the data annotation industry, responsible for training global AI systems. 

This is a free film screening on campus on Nov 10, Monday starting 1pm (doors open at 12:30pm) followed by a Q&A with the film director, Aranya Sahay. The film might be of interest to any and all studying the social and technical impact of AI and Big Data systems. 

The film has received great reviews in The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and just got picked up by Netflix for theatrical release in the US. Here is an official trailer of the film for those interested.
