This workshop is a one-day, in-person training that teaches digital investigation techniques and provides guided, hands-on practice. This workshop will provide an introduction to open-source investigatory methods and skills most commonly used by researchers at Bellingcat. This workshop will also include a guided breakdown of how we conducted one of our most recent long-term digital footprint tracing investigations. We will focus on the verification and analysis of user-generated content and how to investigate individuals and groups through social media and digital information sources.
